Green Cities Charter
It is taking part in a project in 2018 in partnership with The Green European Foundation and Groenlinks and several other groups creating a charter for IT and developing its good use in cities culminating in several important events- one of which will be at The University of Oxford in August 2018 – Tickets are available already on eventbrite and this will be a roundtable so everyone attending will participate. We are already half full so do get your tickets early to avoid dissapointment as its proving to be a popular event.

A charter for Green Cities is being developed during this project in 2018.
Subject: Invitation to a roundtable on smart cities, 10th August 2019, 11.00- 1600- in Oxford, UK –
This invitation-only roundtable is an event to be held as part of the transnational project A Charter for the Smart City, which aims to formulate guiding principles that help politicians to assess and steer technological innovations in European cities.
We would like to draw upon your expertise in order to collect best practises from all over Europe and develop a comprehensive Charter, which addresses the opportunities that new technologies offer for reducing the ecological footprint of cities and creating new urban commons, but also the threats they may present to civil liberties and social justice.
The roundtable, in English, will last from 11.00-16.00 and will take place at a venue to be confirmed in Oxford. After the roundtable debate there will be space for informal networking.
Timetable of the Event:
11.00-12.00 – Introductions and Ice breaker
12.00-13.00 Roundtable discussion – all participants offer insights
13.00-14.00 Adjourn for lunch
14.00- 16.00- Roundtable 2- detail focus on top issues and next steps and the Charter
Please let me know if you want to take part in the roundtable. If so, you will receive a draft of our Charter and other organisational details of the event.

This project is organised by the Green European Foundation with the support of Bureau de Helling (NL), Green Economics Institute (UK) and Institute for Active Citizenship (CZ), and with the financial support of the European Parliament to the Green European Foundation.
