The Green Economics Institute, founded in 2003, is an international institute for green economics professionals, green economics, green jobs and green careers. It has the largest global green experts network that provides training, conferences, events, speakers and lecturers.

We are a Global Think Tank specialising in people working together, across the world, global voices for social, economic and environmental justice, inclusion, diversity and rolling back runnaway climate change, empowering women, ending the 6th ever mass extinction of species and preventing poverty. We lead with delegations to the United Nations, on biodiversity and climate, and climate finance where we are very active. We are an official RINGO -a research organisation of the United Nations Climate Organisation and we are listed in the year book of the United Nations as an official NGO of the United Nations. We are a founder member of the Green European Foundation and also the European Network of Political Foundations. We are active in the Association of Green Councillors and the Alumni committee of Mansfield College, University of Oxford, and The Environmental Change Institute of Oxford University and Clapa, The Cleft Palet Association.

We have the world’s longest running green academic journal -The International Journal of Green Economics, as well as having our own publishing house with over 100 titles, little tv station, geitv and we provide education at all levels- through greeneconomicsinstituteeducation.org, internships, fellowships, professor training, as well as running conferences at Universities and also retreats and field trips regulalarly and on line.

We are a lively members network, official research institute and work as a global network family of likeminded people around the world.

Our main work is on creating a better world, ending corruption, creating better economic conditions for everyone, saving nature, and earth systems, prevention of difficulties and educating the public to make a better world -including health, mental health, and inclusion of all kinds. We also run exhibition stands with information and are pleased to attend events and give speeches. Our signature work is very inclusive of global voices and alternative voices not normally heard.

The Green Economics Institute is based in the UK and provides inspirational leadership for ecological, social and economic justice transformations fit for the 21^st and 22^nd centuries. The Green Economics Institute, is active throughout Europe, and runs a global network, impacting European policy development and outcomes.

It works on climate and visioning the future, long term frameworks of the economy and civilisation, basing its ideas on scientific and philosophical research. All its activities feature its unusual profile of European and global voices of non standard actors and its emphasis on holism, sustainability, future resilience, inclusion and diversity. This includes expert work on philosophies of social justice and mobility, refugees and migration

Our hi tech approach has been modelled upon and heavily influenced by, its corporate hi tech background in global communication systems, and logistics and supply chain management, and IT.

It uses knowledge and methods from corporate training for business transformation, combined with natural robust science, from Oxford University and involvement with cutting edge business product development and leading industrial change from within as well as first hand knowledge and creation of green dialogues for 30 years.

Its Director is a member of Oxford University’s Environmental Change Institute, and a UK government recommended climate scientist for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, IPCC. The Institute has its own delegation to the COP Process and the Kyoto Protocol, most recently one of the largest delegations and exhibition stands at the Bonn COP23 influencing the government focal points to raise their climate mitigation ambitions both at Bonn COP23 and Paris COP21. In its team, it has several Nobel Prize winners and also the creator of the Carbon Market and the Kyoto Protocol economics (as well as the Kyoto 2 concept).

The Green Economics Institute aims to reform Economics, and to prevent poverty at its source, to stop the mass extinction of other species, to help humankind to survive, and to halt the current rapid climate change and to create a more sharing society based on social and environmental justice and equality and inclusion.

Throughout the year, the Green Economics Institute runs a series of events, including our Annual Green Economics Institute Conference, that include working trips, lectures and workshops.Research

Climate Change and our COP United Nations Delegations and Activities

We have several forthcoming official climate delegations in 2026

Secondly to our official delegation to the SB64 Conference in Bonn, Germany in October with United Nations will be most interesting with an official and official side event.

We have been partnering with the government of the Marshall Islands, a small island state threatened by climate change and also a branch of the United Nations itself which is very exciting.

We have had a major influence on speeding up responses to climate change issues.

We have our own delegation to the COP climate conferences and we were in Katowice in Poland COP24 in Poland with our delegation and our delegation to Bonn,Germany COP23 was one of the biggest there.. We have been active and created a large 60 person delegation to Sharm El Sheikh COP26 in Egypt with a high profile official side event and were at COP28 in UAE in Dubai in 2023.

We lead on many aspects of social justice and have just published a chapter in the book a Handbook on social justice by Professor Gary Craig published by Edward Elgar.

Womens Unequal Pay and Poverty

We have been a leading voice on this and related aspects for many years publishing our book on this which has been used by the United Nations and many governments and people in parliaments around the world

We have a charitable trust which is active in education for Green Economics and Social and Environmental Justice issues.
