Modern Slavery Statement

Unfortunately there is an epidemic of modern slavery in plain sight almost everywhere. Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of a person or peoples fundamental human rights.

It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.Having taken advice from many different specialist NGOs and experts in 2023 we now have a deeper understanding and training of the issues and how to spot the red flags of this type of activity.

In 2023 we have changed our proceedures for recruitment of participants to our events and delegations in order to ensure that they are not open to misuse or abuse.

We operate a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all its forms and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in our supply chains.  We conduct our business fairly, ethically and with respect to fundamental human rights. We are fully committed to the prevention of all forms of slavery, forced labour or servitude, child labour and human trafficking, both in our business and in our supply chains. We will not tolerate it.

Preventing Slavery and Human-Trafficking in our Business

We proactively ask where we think there may be slavery in the supply chain and we attempt to avoid it whenever and wherever we see it or
think it might be present but we are aware that with global supply chains at present it is
very likely to be present in plain sight and we look out for it and try to help where we can
and campaign actively whenever we can and bring it to the attention of attendees at our
events and trainings.

As part of this responsibility, we adhere to the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act
2015.

We have a zero tolerance for any suspicion of VISA scamming or modern slavery or
exploitation, and this year we have been proactively taking advice from several NGO
specialist groups to ensure this does not occur.

We are working to ensure that there is
sufficient transparency both within our organisation and within our supplier base.

We want our network members to feel confident that both our organisation and our
business partners treat their employees fairly, with respect for their human rights.
We will not work with any organisation where there is any worry that they may be involved
with either human trafficking or modern slavery without stating reasons.

We will suspend any member pending any inquiry of this nature due to our zero tolerance policy should there
be any worry in this area. Should there be any concerns we do not hesitate to go to the
police.
