Invasive alien species report and the impacts. As we move to a new climatic situation and changes in land use etc the species who find it easier to colonise are changing and this is in turn influencing production of food farming and also impacting native species and land use. For example in France the honey production has been severely reduced by the arrival of the Asian Hornet who target honey bees. Their populations have exploded in the most recent years.
There are many situations like this and the philosophy of alien invasive species is also challenging- what will become the norm as we humans affect the climate and biology? and how do we envisage this new scenario.
The Green Economics Institute has been taking part in these discussions and welcomes new participants and experts to our teams.
